JUA Technologies will be guided for sustained growth by our mission to serve small and mid-size growers and processors as valuable customers. Our products reflect the value we place on innovative designs that are both functionally creative and aesthetically appealing. Our social consciousness moves us to address two of the global challenges we face in the 21st century - the elimination of food insecurity and global hunger, and reduction of greenhouse gases through the use of renewable energy. These are values that address the pains and prosperity of small growers, the health of our planet, and a business strategy built on shared prosperity for all.
To ensure food security with profitability in small grower agriculture by reducing food losses and wastage using innovative technologies that harness renewable energy to dry foods into high-quality shelf stable food products. Our long-term goal is to bring the benefits of globalization to micro-, small- and mid-size growers and processors such that they are able to produce high-value crops and dehydrated foods at high-quality standards for both local and global markets.
We are driven by innovation and creativity.
We are committed to reducing global hunger, food losses, and greenhouse gases through our multipurpose solar powered platforms. We are committed to shared prosperity through our business transactions.
We are committed to alleviating poverty and creating wealth for small growers and our investors. We value the positive impact on the environment and overall improvement in small farmers’ livelihoods that our technologies would bring.
Our Business Strategy
Our technology must not only work efficiently, but also create value to farmers, processors and consumers, and positively impact the environment; our triple bottom line. That is why our business strategy is to enable farmers have the full package for success: training (awareness), competitive pricing with financing (access) and innovative distribution channels that will provide our technology to small growers (availability).
About 525 million smallholder farmers (about 85% of farmers globally) having on average of 2 ha of land exist today. These farmers produce over 80% of the food in Africa and Asia. Urban farming and local foods production are a growing industry in the US and developed countries. JTI recognizes these growers as valuable customers, and has the goal to unleash the huge potential in them through agribusiness, job creation for youths and women, and improvement of their quality of life.
Our Sustainability Goals
To reduce carbon emissions from fossil fuels used in crop and food dehydration, improve the health of smallholder farmers and their families through the usage of improved technologies, and develop low-cost innovative multipurpose solar powered generators as part of our solar powered dehydrators. Our sustainability efforts would also include incentivizing farmers to use clean renewable energy by exploring the use of carbon offset schemes to financially compensate them. This also involves strategic partnerships to help fulfill the social corporate responsibilities of other corporations and ensure that our products don’t pollute the environment.
Our Stewardship to Livelihoods
Food is a basic necessity of life and those who toil hard to produce it must also be able to do so with dignity and earn a decent income. Therefore, our dehydration technologies are income earning assets enabling farmers to produce high quality dehydrated crops and products for a growing population. Our goal is to grow the number of smallholder farmers from micro-production of raw materials to value addition in small and medium enterprises engaged in agriculture as a business. This is part of our shared prosperity value proposition; we can jointly win and together lift all up.
